Community Commitment

Our commitment to the planet goes way beyond being the UK’s first Carbon Neutral tile company. We also play our part in supporting charitable projects that improve the life chances of some of the poorest people in the world:

Mercy Ships was founded in 1978. It’s an international faith-based organisation with a mission to increase access to health care throughout the world, serving the poor regardless of race, gender or religion.

The first Mercy Ship was a passenger vessel transformed into a hospital ship with three operating theatres and a 40 bed ward. It had a volunteer crew of 350 from all over the world. Since then, ships in the Mercy Ships fleet have visited more than 451 ports in developing nations, bringing lasting change to millions of lives. To find out more go to www.mercyships.org.uk

Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA-UK) is an independent humanitarian agency established by the Seventh-day Adventist Church for the specific purpose of individual and community development and disaster relief. ADRA-UK partners with agencies in over 25 countries and also supports projects in the United Kingdom every year.

Their development work is based on consultation and empowerment among local people, first to determine and prioritize their needs and then to participate in decision-making and ownership of the project. They also provide relief (or Emergency Management) projects, including short-term assistance given to relieve immediate emergency situations by offering such as shelter, clothing, food and medical treatment.
